Minor Scales

What are Minor Scales?

There are three kinds of minor scales. They all share the same foundation: the 3rd scale degree is flatted. So in the key of C, the E becomes E flat.

Harmonic Minor Scale

The harmonic minor scale involves a flat 3, flat 6, but keeping the 7 natural.

Melodic Minor Scale

The melodic minor scale is the only scale that varies depending on which direction you are going. Going up the scale you flat only the 3, but going down you flat the 3, 6 and 7.

Purchase the Melodic Minor Scale in all keys with fingerings.

Natural Minor Scale

The natural minor is the standard minor scale, involving a flat 3, flat 6 and flat 7.

Purchase the Natural Minor scale in all keys with fingerings.
